Here's a list of common over-the-counter medications that can be used as Home Pet Remedies. As always, its a good idea to check with your veterinarian before using any home remedy on your dog or cat.

3% Hydrogen peroxide To induce vomiting; wound cleanser 3 tsp/10 lbs (MAX. 10 tsp)
Bismuth subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol) Vomiting; mild diarrhea 1 tsp/20 lbs (dogs only)
Kaolin and pectin (NOT Kao-Pectate) Mild diarrhea 1 tsp/10 lbs
Buffered aspirin Fever & inflammation; mild pain 1 adult tablet/60lbs (dogs only)
Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) Mild cough; allergies; allergic rxns 1 mg/lb
Vegetable oil Constipation; hairballs 1 tsp/5 lbs (mixed with food)
Milk of Magnesia Vomiting; constipation; poisons 2 tsp/10 lbs
Activated charcoal Deactivate poisons 1/2 gram/lb
Dimenhydrinate (Dramamine) Car sickness; nausea 1 mg/lb
Benzoyl peroxide gel Localized skin infections/Demodex Scrub localized lesions twice daily
Colloidal oatmeal (Aveeno) Itching; skin inflammation Apply as conditioner/cool water rinse
Betadine/Povidone Iodine Solution Skin infections; ringworm Soak skin/coat for 15 min&rinse well
